Daniel "Danny" Wirtz, 46, took over as Chief Executive Officer for the Chicago Blackhawks onDecember 16, 2020 and serves as alternate Governor to the NHL and is a representative for thefamilies’ ownership of the United Center Joint Venture. Balancing his work in the sports andentertainment world, Danny is also the Vice Chairman and serves on the Board of Directors ofBreakthru Beverage Group, the third largest wine, spirits and beer distributor in the US andCanada. As a leader in the alcohol beverage industry, Danny is on the Board of Directors of theWine and Spirits Wholesalers of America.As a fourth-generation leader, Danny has a vested interest in the family holding company, WirtzCorporation, where he is a member of the Board of Directors. He provides strategic counsel to itsdiversified holdings including the Blackhawks, Breakthru Beverage, Wirtz Realty and bankinginterests in Illinois and Florida.With an entrepreneur and creative mindset, in 2013, Danny launched the video productioncompany, Banner, and in 2018, became a partner in the creative studio Varyer.Danny is an active leader in the Chicago community and a supporter of Chicago organizationsaddressing social justice and youth opportunity. Danny serves as Vice Chairman for the ChicagoBlackhawks Foundation and was recently appointed as a Board Member of Embarc.He is a graduate of Boston College and has two daughters, Rosemary (14) and Juniper (11) withhis wife Anne.
